The International Central Gospel Church – ICGC – is an Evangelical, Charismatic Christian Church. It was officially inaugurated as a church on the 26th of February 1984, in Accra, Ghana with an initial membership of just about twenty people. The early meetings of the church were held in several facilities, including classrooms, a private residence, a public hall, a science laboratory, a mechanical workshop, and a cinema theatre.

In May 1986, the church settled in a rented scout hall – the Baden Powell Memorial Hall – which became its home for the next ten years. During this ten-year period, the membership rose to over 4,000. This period also saw aggressive missionary church planting activities with local assemblies established in almost all the major towns and cities of Ghana. Several other churches were also planted in cities in Europe and the United States. Learn more about the history of ICGC here

The International Central Gospel Church, Cape Coast, began in October 1986, started by a young Pastor Frank Opoku-Amoako, who pioneered what became the first charismatic church in this historic town of the then mainly orthodox Christianity.

The Church began meeting at the old worker’s canteen at Pedu Junction, before moving to the Town Hall at Bakaano, then to Legion Hall near the Cape Coast Castle, and finally to its current location at Grace Temple we see today.

By the grace of God, the great tree that He planted some thirty-five years ago continues to abide and bear fruits to the glory of his wonder full name. Offshoot ICGC churches that have been birthed through this great ministry include Emancipation Temple (Elmina), Emmanuel Temple (Twifo-Praso), Exalted Temple (Kakomdo), ICGC Kormantse, ICGC Jukwa, New Wine Temple (Adisadel) and Nkanfoa.

The greatest heroes of ICGC Grace Temple are all those members, who have over the years stood and carried this church upon their physical, spiritual, financial and material shoulders to keep and protect it from the many fiery attacks of the devil. God bless them all.

The words of scripture spoken by Pastor Mensa-Otabil in the early days of the church stand fresh in our memories: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure” (II Timothy 2:19)

God richly bless you for being a part of this great ministry!
